Sunshine porridge
Iv been down with a tummy bug this weekend… And the only thing that would settle my tummy is this yummy sunshine porridge.
Why sunshine? Because the key ingredient is TUMERIC.. A gorgeous golden spice..
Tumeric contains curcumin: one of the most beneficial healing compounds available to us.
Below are a list of some of renowned healing compounds of curcumin.
Anti- inflammatory
gastro- intestinal support
anti- depressant
diabetes and blood sugar control
cholestrol regulator
This morning, I decided to make a soothing, healing sunshine porridge, to lift my spirits and nourish my body.
Here is the recipe:
ingredients:
100ml oats- ground down in the nutribullet or blender to a fine oaty powder.
50ml of warm water
50ml of warmed coconut milk
10ml coconut oil
2 Table spoons of Organic TUMERIC powder
1 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon of grated ginger
5 dates, or a teaspoon of honey ( to sweeten)
Method:
Add the warm water, warm coconut milk, honey, or dates and coconut oil to the powdered oats and allow to soak.
( for optimal results allow for overnight soaking- but if you want to make this right away, a good 10 minutes will do).
Add in the TUMERIC, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, ginger and blend well.
Add coconut flakes and cinnamon on top, and enjoy.
